Followed the beginner course in the first year and second year/CEFR level A2.

Overall objective

Broaden and strengthen language skills and cultural knowledge.

Course content and organisation

Continued practice of communication skills (written and spoken).

Students study new language structures and lexical fields. The course also introduces use of the target language in a professional environment. New and different aspects of culture and civilization are included in the course.

 

N.B. In order for this class to open there has to be a minimum number of students having already studied the language.

Know Strengthen and broaden the further knowledge of specific phonetic sounds and intonation, lexical fields, grammatical structures.
UnderstandUnderstand a wider range of written and spoken communication.
Apply  Take part in a simple conversation and write texts in plain, simple language. Be capable of summarising the esssential information of a given document, expressing an opinion and constructing a convincing argument.
Analyse 

Capable of distinguishing between different styles of language (formal, familiar) and of making comparisons with other languages. Recognize the essential information. 

SummariseProduce coherent, organized language in increasingly complex communication situations (written and spoken).
AssessAssess personal progress made and difficulties encountered in the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening), communicate more or less spontaneously, write, understand and so on.

The teaching of foreign languages and their respective cultures through the study of various topics and via different media contributes towards the development of mindsets that are indispensable in order to reach these objectives.
