Course content and organisation | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This course is divided into three workshops of four to five classes. The three workshops are entitled English in the Professional Context, Crossing Cultural Boundaries and Abstracts & Presentations. The topics covered include communication in a professional environment (applications and interview role plays), cultural issues in a multi-national context and English communication skills for engineers. The activities target fluency in both formal and informal situations, with or without prior preparation (written and spoken), efficient comprehension in a variety of situations, written abstracts for scientific reports and presentations of a scientific or technical nature – including via video-conferencing methods. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
