Objective :

With the aim to give all students an education through research (and not in research), they are asked to carry out a research project, challenging enough so that the undertaking has a purpose, limited enough so that it is feasible

The project is, except in the case of particular exceptions, individual.

While it can have a strong bibliographic emphasis, it will not be limited to this. A significant part must involve material realization (observations, experiments, calculations, etc.).

The project can take place outside of the school or in an outside laboratory and concludes with a report. It will be conducted under the supervision of the research advisor who proposed the subject and who will also give the final evaluation. The form of the report can, in certain cases, have a scientific note, “ready for publication”.

An oral presentation (viva voce) will be given at the end of the project. This will also be part of the final evaluation, which will be given by the research advisor(s) of the project and coordinated by the leader of the course.

Understanding the interest of the bibliography. Realize that it is possible to become a specialist in a given field.

Apply knowledge and skills to a solve scientific problems.

Analyse 

Being able to analyze a new scientific problem, identify the knowledge and skills (already acquired or to be acquired) needed to solve it during the 6 months duration of the project.

Summarise

Being able to synthesize the work done in the form of a scientific paper and an oral communication

Assess

Being able to assess the achievements of the project, the remaining misunderstandings and perspectives
