Prerequisite : Fundamentals of programming

Objective : Advanced knowledge of an operating system's operations and functions. 

 

Program and Contents:

Acquiring a deep knowledge of how an operating system functions in order to have a better understanding of its limits as well as its performances and being able to exploit it in the best conditions in any context.

The course will focus on the Unix/Linux operating systems.

The constitution of an OS, its components roles and functions.

The different architectures and solutions that are deployed by the OS in order to have a sound development environment.

Input-Output with system files, network, users interface, synchronization and memory sharing.

Conception, realization and evaluation of an application on a given system.

The OS choices that we are confronted with as IT engineers.
