Program and contents:

The C-I-P workshop aims at developing the motivation and skills needed to successfully lead a development project for new products and/or create a new business. Using an interdisciplinary approach, it combines the complementary concepts of creativity, functionality, quality and profitability.

In this first semester of the workshop, the objective is to stimulate creative thinking by carrying out analyses on a product’s functionalities and identifying a “value” that a client would attribute to each one of them. This approach leads to discovering the historical, sociological and technological aspects of industrial design. Each class is based on a given subject and leads to a practical case study. The C-I-P workshop calls on external consultants, engineers and entrepreneurs.

It is accompanied by a project that aims at designing an innovative product and creating a business (fictional or real).

Throughout the semester, project groups will work on their own, their primary task being to imagine a product they would like to put on the market and to analyze its functionalities, completely and in detail.
