OBJECTIVES

To acquire competence and strong professional skills in Reservoir Engineering which objective is to understand the physics of reservoir mechanisms and to manage (to foresee, to control, to model, and to optimise) the exploitation of any types of underground energy reservoirs: Natural gas reservoirs, Gas-condensate reservoirs, Oil reservoirs, Methane, CO2, H2 underground storages, Gas hydrate reservoirs, Coalbed methane, Reservoirs of bitumen and heavy oils, TGR –tight gas reservoirs-, Geothermal reservoirs.

IHR option ensures also a knowledge on renewable energy sources as the hydrogen, fuels elements, and geothermal techniques.

After the IHR option, the young specialist will be competent in :
Reservoir exploitation :
1. To know how to analyse the mechanisms of reservoir processes during exploitation
2. To model dynamic reservoir processes
3. To select the optimal exploitation methods and scenarios
4. To evaluate the efficiency of the secondary recovery methods
5. To evaluate the enhanced oil recovery methods
6. To acquire data about the reservoir during its exploitation
7. To improve the geological reservoir model using the data about its exploitation
8. To manage a set of professional simulators (GoCad, ECLIPSE, MBAL, Femlab)
Production – wells
9. To select an optimal well construction and completion
10. To manage the bases of well drilling
11. To interprete the well tests
12. To select the optimal methods of well stimulation
13. To simulate the hydro-thermodynamic regimes in a well
14. To optimise the well production

In addition to this dominating destination, REH gives an opportunity to young engineers to work in joint areas :
Geology-Geophysics:
1. To acquire geophysical and seismic data in situ
2. To interprete the acquired data
3. To construct geological model of a reservoir using measured data of various types
Numerical simulation of underground systems
4. To be aware of the principles of numerical modelling
5. To know the architecture of professional simulators
6. To know the physical models at the basis of simulators
