1 - Issues in oil and gas exploration and production: The players: oil and gas producers and consumers; global energy reserves; peak oil concepts and implications; deep and very deep offshore challenges; potential for enhanced oil recovery (EOR); unconventional hydrocarbons (bitumen and additional heavy oil); oil and gas players and markets; environmental constraints in oil and gas; project assessment and hands-on training. 2 - Oil strategy: main definitions, reserves, partnerships, oil contract. Different experiences as geosciences manager in subsidiaries. Practical applications in the Lower Congo basins (deep offshore Angola). This course is articulated around a presentation and a practical work (1d J. J. Biteau - TOTAL - Director coordination arbitration exploration), 3 - Petroleum synthesis of the North Pyrenean foreland: Introduction to the petroleum geology in the context of the foothills and foreland, realization of a stratigraphic and petroleum chart of the South Aquitaine basin, seismic pointing in foothill context. Dynamic approach of petroleum systems using maps and modeling results. Comparison of the volumes of hydrocarbons discovered in the northern forelands and on the Pyrenees. This course is illustrated by four exercises (1 day J. J. 1 - Enjeux en exploration production des hydrocarbures et gas : Les acteurs : producteurs de pétrole et de gaz et les consommateurs ; les réserves d'énergie mondiales; Concepts et implication du pic pétrolier ; les défis off-shore profonds et très profonds ; potentiel de la récupération assistée du pétrole (EOR) ; les hydrocarbures non conventionnels (bitume et pétrole lourd supplémentaire) ; les acteurs du pétrole et du gaz et les marchés ; les contraintes environnementales dans l'huile et le gaz ; l'évaluation du projet et la formation pratique. 2 - Stratégie pétrolière : grandes définitions, réserves, partenariats, contrat pétrolier. Différentes expérience de manager géoscience géosciences en filiales. Applications pratiques aux bassins du bas Congo (deep offhore Angola). Ce cours est articulé autour d’un exposé et d’un TP (1j J.
