Prerequisites : 

From the first year, the search for an internship is done independently so as to concretize the
process for realizing a professional and personal project. A dossier for the internship search
is due by the end of March, to have drafted a CV and a cover letter, to have received a
favorable reply from the DAEC concerning the subject of the internship.

Objective :

In addition to the various ways of finding out about businesses and engineering careers
(visiting companies, introduction to the sociology of the workplace, seminars, job networking,
Forum Est Horizon, Department week, etc.), students carry out an internship that allows
them to discover the complexity of the work environment. The second year internship offers
the first opportunity for engineering students to take part in a project team and to acquire
certain capacities such as organizing, analyzing, designing, etc. This should be the occasion
for him to confirm his technical knowledge and to take initiative under close supervision.
- organization, planification, following and control of tasks in a workshop;
- analyze, conception, elaboration of specifications, receiving and starting of an equipment ;
- definition of procedures for the conduction, optimization, maintenance, and quality of an installation.
- more rarely, technical management of a team.

Know

Be able to identify target firms by sector and tools which exist to contact them (networks, ENT UL ressources, intranet, internship platforms,...) Know the tools dedicated to the search of an internship (French and English) and techniques to look for an internship.

Understand 

Be able to make the link between knowledge, skills and abilities that can be used for the internship, and the content of the internship.

Apply

Be able to write his CV and a statement of purpose. Be capable of demonstrate that the internship is consistent with the personal project. 
Be able to integrate in a hierarchal organization.
Be able to adapt to an intercultural environment (internship abroad). Learn to communicate and to work amid a team. Be able of apply one's knowledge to the problematics of the firm to a result.

Analyze 

Be able to find independantly an internship consistent with the professional plans and the degree course of the third year validated by the school. Be capable to report one's experience, describe and analyze the issues met and the methods used to sort them out and get results.

Summarise

Know how to report one's experience in a specific framework (oral presentation, internship report)  while promoting the skills and methods used. A technical report can be asked by the firm.

Assess

Know how to evaluate the level of responsibility and engineers missions. Be able of specify one's professional project.
