Curriculum

Pedagogical objectives
The objective of this set of meetings is to provide students a history of digital from the point of view of the interactions with major social movements to the point of view of the evolution of thinking and its development during the history of mankind. During these sessions, based on readings, presentations but also discussions, we will seek to enrich the report to digital students to make them aware of the necessary relationship between science, society and culture as well as the diversity of the digital impact in their professional and personal life. Students will share online bibliography and webography.

Curriculum
Recent years have seen the rise of the Internet, the mass digitization, the explosion of computer performances, digital media convergence, the development of digital libraries, the tools and resources of Web 2.0 and social networks, etc.
In this context, it seems essential to enable students to make their digital humanities by giving an overview of the methods, devices, and opportunities related to digital in an interdisciplinary approach open to all the sciences and not just the science of engineer.
Session 1 – From contre-culture to cyberculture – a short recent history of our world

Séance 2 – When literature has anticipated the present - William Gibson's Neuromancer, Murray Leinster, K. Dick, Asimov, Brunner and others

Sessions 3 and 4 - Digital technology in our society (to a sociological and phenomenological approaches - education, documentation, the relationship to knowledge, open education, art, economy).

Session 5 and 6 - The link with the main schools of thought: a philosophical approach to digital and the Internet (from Plato to Sloterdijk through Derrida, Ricoeur, Simondon, Bergson ...)

Sessions 7 and 8 - Digital technology modeling and applications (web mining, algorithms and access to information - models and recommendation - the digital identity - digital communities)

Session 9 – Transhumanism, ...

Session 10 - Discussions and reflections, sharing ideas and some ideas for the future

The order of the sessions and some of its contents are subject to change based on the debates, discussions and questions. The course of digital humanities is dealt in order to be a time / space for debate, exchange and wellness for all.

The assessment takes into account productions, reflection and review on the topics, the involvement in the course and a presentation in peer-evaluation "1 Semester in 3 minutes".

At the first meeting, will be presented the assessment methods (the peer review criteria of the semester in 3 minutes will be defined together).
