C2i IT - Computing and Internet Certification - Level 1

Aims : Preparation for the Level 1-C2I certification

Content :

It is mandatory for all first-year students to pass the C2I certification. Two sessions are organized : in November and in May for those who have failed the first session.

The theoretical test consists of a series of multiple choice questions each one aiming one of five domains:

1) Working on an evolving numerical environment

2) Being responsible at the digital era

3) Producing, treating, and exploiting numerical data

4) Organizing data mining

5) Working, collaborating and communicating within a digital network

The practical test consists of a subject to treat within two hours within the Microsoft Pack Office framework (Power Point, Word, Excel)

The acquired skills for software use shall be evaluated afterwards on reports and presentations that the student will have to do during his schooling for example in case of oral defences.

The interest of such a numerical culture

  The basic rules of ethics in the numerical world (intellectual property ...)

 

Analysing

The good and the bad of these newly available tools

Synthesizing

Redacting reports of more or less technical conferences 

Evaluating

The contribution of the numerical era on the relation between humans, the emergence of new types of workstations
